Programming

Introduction

Planning at Richmond Crèche is a collaborative process. Each room devises a weekly schedule that allows every educator within the room preparation time off the floor in order to actively contribute to the planning of both the indoor and outdoor programs. Consistent with Regulations and the Victorian Early Years Framework  the Educational Program and Practice folders are always available for educator and parent participation within each room.

In accordance with the Educational Services (Teachers) Award our Kindergarten Teachers have 16 hours of non-contact planning time each week. In accordance with our RCK work place agreement Diploma qualified room leaders receive 4 hours planning/week with Diploma qualified educators receiving 2 hours/week planning. This is double the allowances given by regulations.

Aims

We aim to devise and implement holistic and developmentally appropriate programming for all children at RCK, thus allowing the children to be the centre of their own learning. We aim for children to feel a sense of security and belonging in the RCK community. We support children being active within their own learning and development as they explore the process of becoming the individuals they were meant to be.

Our Educational Programs are designed to support the five learning outcomes of the Victorian Early years Learning and Development Framework:

  • Children are effective communicators
