This section of the website is designed to give an overview of the programs and services provided at Richmond Creche and Kindergarten and to assist you and your child in the preparation for creche.
The creche was established in 1891 for the purpose of taking care of children of deserving mothers who were compelled to go out to work to earn their living. Over the years the creche has developed to meet the changing needs of the community.
Today the Richmond Creche and Kindergarten is a community-based Long Day Care service. It is registered for 70 children and provides full-time and part-time care for children between three months and five years and a kindergarten with a qualified teacher for the 3 year old and 4 year old children.
The policies and information in this section have been developed co-operatively between the Educators and the Management Committee to ensure that the creche philosophy is reflected in the day to day operations, whilst ensuring the creche meets Child Care regulations required by government legislation.
