Our Community

Our Philosophy

We aim to devise and implement holistic and developmentally appropriate programming for all children at RCK, thus allowing the children to be the centre of their own learning. We aim for children to feel a sense of security and belonging in the RCK community. We support children being active within their own learning and development as they explore the process of becoming the individuals they were meant to be.

Our Educational Programs are designed to support the five learning outcomes of the Victorian Early years Learning and Development Framework:

Children have a strong sense of identity
Children are connected with and contribute to their world
Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
Children are confident and involved learners
Children are effective communicators

Childhood is a time to be, to seek and make meaning of the world

Richmond Creche and Kindergarten (RCK) is a community-based Long Day Care Service. It is registered for 70 children and provides full-time and part-time care for children between three months and five years, and a kindergarten with a qualified teacher for the 3 year old and 4 year old children.

As a parent, the decision to place your child in day care and the choice of an appropriate service, are two of the most important decisions that you will make. In making your selection you are welcome to visit RCK to observe the daily programs of the current children and to meet and talk with the director and staff.
